Arrival
& Check-In
-Please arrive 7:30–7:50 AM.
-Enter the park via East Blvd
(not Princeton Ave nor Cumberland Ave) and park near the volleyball courts. Map
included below.
-Check
in at the VBH/USAA tents by the volleyball courts.
-At check-in: sign the county waiver, receive your team assignment, meet your
team leader.
-Team assignment: Each team will intermingled to include a blend of corporate and community volunteers to encourage collaboration.
What
to Wear/Bring
• Company/organization shirts encouraged; long pants recommended.
• Closed-toe shoes required (sneakers/work boots).
• Bring a refillable water bottle, gloves if you have them (extras provided),
sunscreen/hat, insect repellent, and any personal medications.
• Please leave valuables at home.
Schedule
-7:30–8:00 AM: Check-in & registration
-8:00–8:20 AM: Welcome
-8:20–8:45 AM: Park & Rec safety briefing and instructions
-8:45–12:00 PM: Volunteer projects
-12:00-12:30
PM: All supplies/tools returned, stored
-12:30–2:00 PM: Lunch, National Anthem, 9/11 tribute with LtGen Stacy Clardy
(USMC, Ret.), and a mental wellbeing focus
-2:00–3:00 PM: Event closes
Optional: 5:30–7:00 PM networking at Sugar Creek Brewing with Veterans on Wall

Projects
& Teams
-You’ll be assigned to teams where tasks may include mulching (Orange Team),
park debris pickup (Red Team), Greenway debris pickup (Yellow Team), painting
(Green Team), creek clean up (waders will be provided)(Tan Team), and clearing
invasives/light pruning (Purple Team).
-Team leaders will have a pink wrist band on in addition to their team color.
-Blue team is USAA/VBH only. They will be handling volunteer coordination, admin, and logistics.
-Tools, supplies, and safety gear provided. If you need light-duty work, tell us at check-in.
Facilities
& Breaks
• Restrooms near check-in.
• Water, snacks, and shaded rest area available. Take breaks as needed.
First
Responder Recognition & Tribute
• We will recognize first responders during the 12:30 PM program. If you are a
first responder, please let us know at check-in.
Safety
& Emergency
• Your points of contact are your team leader, Park & Rec staff, and VBH
staff.
• First aid at the check-in tent.
• In an emergency, call 911 and notify event staff staff.
FAQs
• Timing: Please plan to serve 8:00 AM–1:00 PM if possible. If you must arrive
late/leave early, notify us at check-in.
• Guests: Friends/colleagues/family are welcome, as long as they have
