Veterans Bridge Home, in partnership with USAA, will host a 9/11 Day of Service-Remembrance-Support on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Freedom Park in Charlotte, NC. The event will run from 8:00 AM to 2:00+ PM, followed by an optional networking social.
This gathering honors the memory of 9/11 through collaborative community service and meaningful engagement among Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) from leading regional employers.
Attendees will participate in volunteer activities coordinated with Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation and hear remarks from key speakers, including LtGen Stacy Clardy, USMC, Ret. The event will feature a tribute to those lost on 9/11, remarks about USAA's Mental Wellness programs and an opportunity to build relationships through a post-event social.
ERGs and company reps registered so far: USAA, Truist, Piedmont Airlines, American Airlines, Wells Fargo, Barings Bank, US Dept of Veterans Affairs, Anuvia, Charlotte Meditation, NCIA, and more.
Additional logistics:
- Volunteer activities include watershed projects, stream cleanups, debris collection, mulching, and small painting projects.
- This is a rain-or-shine event unless we have storms. We will stay in touch with all volunteers the week of the event.
- Attire: please wear your company volunteer t-shirt, long pants, and shoes that can get dirty.
- What to bring: water bottle, refreshments, sun block, insect repellent, hat, work gloves.
- Lunch will be provided by USAA.
