Cycling Heals Vets Connect (CHVC) is inviting Veterans across Metrolina to attend an event on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Salem Lake Park in Winston-Salem, NC. Celebrate with them over a BBQ lunch provided by Back Country Barbeque, served at 11:00 AM.
CHVC is now in its fifth year and continues to offer recreational therapy for Disabled Veterans and Wounded Warriors. Through a partnership with Operation North State, the National Cycling Center, and the City of Winston-Salem, these monthly gatherings take place every second Tuesday, rain or shine, and are filling a vital need for consistent cycling activities in North Carolina.
Loaner bikes and helmets are available for anyone who wishes to ride. Volunteers are always welcome, with opportunities in registration, setup, cleanup, ride companionship, and bike support. If you’re interested, please arrive by 7:15 AM.
